Do you want to understand another language? Want to travel to Europe or South America and communicate fluently with people you meet? At CUC you have the opportunity to study and perfect a new language in the best possible place to learn it - in a country where it is spoken.

CUC students have the opportunity to travel internationally, study languages and cultures and gain credits that will count toward their major at CUC, at the following international institutions:

Summer Language Study
Do you want to spend a fun educational summer abroad? A summer language program is also available for those who want to touch up on those language skills, or even just give the program a try.

Eligibility and Application:

If you want to be take advantage of this program here are the requirements you have to meet:

1. Admission as a regular student in the college for the year abroad.

2. Competence in the relevant language as determined by CUC.

3. Sophomore standing at CUC. (Exceptions may be considered on an individual basis).

4. A GPA of 3.00 in the relevant language and 2.50 overall.

5. A good citizenship record.

6. Application to the CUC Admissions Office.

7. Fulfillment of the financial requirement.

Objectives:

It is expected that students will immerse themselves in the culture and life of the host country, mature socially and intellectually, and become conversant in the language. It is also hoped that, through their experience abroad, students will gain inspiration to offer more effective service in a variety of cultures.

Columbia Union College is a member of Adventist Colleges Abroad. Adventist Colleges Abroad (ACA) is a consortium of Adventist colleges and universities in North America under the auspices of the North American Division Office of Education, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. It provides opportunities to qualified students for study overseas while completing the requirements of their programs at their home colleges.
